This is my third outback setup with RalliTek overload springs and 1/2 spacers. I added the spacers to give the outback just a touch more height. With my wheel/tire setup (235/65/17 with Method 502 8" +38), the overload springs and spacers it sits a bit higher than a stock OBW. The ride is awesome. No sag even with it loaded and a bike hitch on with two bikes. Most importantly empty or loaded the ride is simply awesome. Zero harshness and the body roll is eliminated. Really enjoy the ride, extra ground clearance and the look is just what I was after.
Installed these on my wife’s 24 Outback touring xt. It had terrible sag in the rear end after going on a vacation loaded down with bikes and luggage. After installing the springs and a lift the car has no more sag issues and surprisingly still rides really good. These springs also help with body roll and nose dive when hard braking. Would definitely recommend to anyone who hauls with their Outback.
Hello Joshua,
Thank you for the amazing review! We're glad to hear you like the product. Let us know if you need anything else!
I recently had a local performance shop install the Rallitek overloaded springs (front & rear) on stock struts . Drove it home and locally and took it through the hills then on the freeway. I immediately felt that the ride is a bit more sportier. I can feel the road similar to my WRX when it was stock. My outback wasn’t loaded so I’m guessing it will feel better when loaded. Turning is more responsive with less body roll. I did notice that while I was on the road driving at 35-40mph I did drive over a rough patch and it felt a bit jumpy (not loaded) I’ll have to drive it around a bit more and let the springs settle I’m guessing. I can tell it has a slight lift to it which is nice. -2024 Subaru OBXT
Hello,
We're glad you like them! The rear looks a bit higher than the front so it might be binding up in the rear. This is common when a new suspension is installed and the vehicle suspension bolts are torqued down with the vehicle in the air. As that rear end relaxes and settles it should mellow out and give you a more compliant feel from the springs.
I tow a trailer and I use my Outback as a truck, that being said so far I love the springs. I think that they ride the same as the stock springs but when you put a load in the car it does handle the load. I definitely would buy them again.
Josh,
Thanks for the order and the review. Looks like you are happy with the product and they are performing well for you.
I have a 1900 pound camper I pull with my outback, the sag wasn't terrible but its now practically level with theses springs. The Installation "if you know what to do" took me 45 min a side. The control and feeling of the car now is so much better now. There is deffently a notice of lift in the back but it's not overdoing it. I'm not sure if I want to do the front because I think the car is to light and the overload springs would just push the body up rather then push my tires deeper into the ground
Raplaced front and rear springs, took about a day.
These springs offer an unbelievable improvement in traction and handling. Turned my clunky daily driver into a 260hp rally machine.
It's been 6 months and I still giggle like a child everytime I confidently pitch into a corner sideways! For reference, I live in the mountains where most of the roads are unpaved and it snows from October to May- and my other car is a long travel Toyota.
Thank you for the amazing review. We're thrilled to hear that you like them so much. Our goal is to the most high-quality products and results, and we're happy to hear that we've exceeded your expectations. We're always hear to help if you need anything else so please let us know!
I fitted these springs to a 2022 Outback combined with the 1.5 inch lift. The stance of the vehicle with the 2 inch overall lift is awesome. The ride with the new springs is a lot firmer but by no means uncomfortable. That bouncy wallowing feeling when you go over bumps or expansion joints on a freeway has stopped. I look froward to the next road trip and enjoying a ride that does not bottom out when going over bumps or dips in the road. I also feel more comfortable knowing that I am less likely to scrape the bottom of the vehicle when I go to the cabin or camping. Highly recommend the fitment of the springs as a minimum if you do load your vehicle.
I have a 2020 Outback Onyx XT and I feel the stock springs were not stiff enough. Installing the front and rear springs completely fixed that. The ride is firm but not harsh and feels much sportier. I gained exactly .5" of lift at each corner. I frequently pull a small camper with my outback with about a 250lb toungue weight and there is very little sag after the upgrade. These springs are an absolute must if you want to tow or haul heavy loads.
at first i was not impressed but after afew days the springs and suspention setteled in and fixed the negitive camber in the rear of the car, now I love them wish we had got them when we bought the car new great product
These got rid of the floaty feeling of the stock Touring XT suspension. A little stiffer than stock but well worth it. Coupled with a stiffer rear sway bar and it feels planted vs top heavy. Much less side to side shimmy after hitting bumps at speed and less roll in the corners. Barely noticeable difference in height with an empty car but doesn't sag when loaded. If you're looking to improve handling and don't want to deal with a larger lift with subframe spacers, these are it.
We can now haul a load of camping gear without fear of wearing out the inside portion of our tires. With the original springs, we went through two steal belts on the inside before we realized the damage. For me, I feel the car even handles better!
My objective was to reduce the suspension drop on my Subaru when I hitched up my camper. Call RalliTeK and they recommend the ½” rear springs upgrade. They worked great. The rear end came up ½” as planned but when I hitched up the trailer there was minimal impact on the rear end. Before my car would settle 1 ½”. The new springs solved my problem perfectly. Great
Got rid of the saggy rear end from the outback with just the rears. Feels well balanced now
1/2" Lift Overload Spring Kit - Fits 20-25 Subaru Outback
To begin with, I'm very glad that I replaced the original front springs with these RalliTEK 1/2” lift springs. As for the springs and results: Upon receiving the springs, I found one to be unnoticeably taller than the other, measured at approximately 1/8” difference. This was perfect for my situation (and probably most other Subaru owners), given an approximate front imbalance in the car of 1/8”. After 30 hours and 13 miles of driving, my Outback is within about 1/16th of an inch, front left to front right. Not being a car mechanic, I'm hoping this slight difference doesn't translate into drive parts wearing out differently.
On the downside: Actual lift was only between 5/16th inch and 6/16th inch. And, the advertised install time and install difficulty may be for actual professional mechanics. If I weren't so stubborn about not letting anyone else touch my Outback, or so insanely meticulous, I'd consider driving from Atlanta GA to Portland OR and letting RalliTEK do the job.
Customer service has been exceptionally great. And, the care and attention to detail in packaging for shipment is phenomenal.
I have a 2020 Outback Premium. I'm not an overlander or a drive much off road. I do however, load up my outback with tools and luggage. I am a field service tech. and my car was looking like a squatted truck. Not my thing. I have 230K miles on the clock so when i was ready to replace the struts i ordered these springs. I does raise the car but not significantly. It does level out the car under load. I feel much safer on the highway now. Thanks y'all.
I'm very happy with the spring/spacer kit for my 2022 Outback, it seems to have resolved the rear sagging and excessive wear on the inside tire tread. I can't say enough good things about my experience, your tech support was quick to answer my questions and provide the information I was looking for. I now approach other Outback owners and share my story, it seems most have been having excessive tire wear issues and Subaru's only solution is to blame the car owner for not rotating their tires often enough. My car has only 20,000 miles and the tires had been rotated 4 times, all four tires showed wear on the inside, so a set of 50,000 mile tires need replacing by 25,000 miles. Thanks again to providing a solution that Subaru was unable to provide.
2024 Outback XT (Springs installed at 15,000km odometer): These have corrected the "set" that the rear springs had after a 1500km/950mi haul. I no longer get flashed from people because my rear is sagged, making the headlights aim high. After install, all 4 corners were 31-3/4" from ground to top of wheel well(Factory XT rims and tire size). Slightly higher in the front and about an inch in the rear(from how bad they crushed). Handling of the car is also better, with slightly but notably less body roll in corners. Feeling tighter, more responsive and a bit less like a 2 ton wagon. I was considering sway bar upgrades as well, because of the body roll. These have removed that need for my driving anyways.
--The story of my issue that these fixed: I crushed my rear springs while hauling my apartment on a 12ft single axle bumper pull flat deck trailer 1500km(950miles) across the British Columbia mountains. It was probably a 2500-3000lb pull(with trailer). I made sure I could lift the hitch off the receiver, so under 350lb tongue weight. The interior had as much as it could physically hold as well. So, I weigh 270lbs and jumping on the hitch would bottom it out still, with roughly 1" of travel. So I kind of expected the journey to hurt something. After the fact I lost 1" of ground to wheel well measurement.
--It's all even now, and hitching the same trailer(unloaded) barely sags the rear now. EXCELLENT upgrade.
---Canadian buyer's: Make sure to arrange brokerage with FEDEX, I got a bill from fedex a month after receiving them for $280CAD tariff and brokerage. So just use the net to arrange that before hand.
1/2" Lift Overload Spring Kit - Fits 20-25 Subaru Outback
I measured the height and sag of the car when I attach the trailer before and after changing the coil springs. Without the trailer my outback is 3/4 inches higher but once the trailer is attached it goes down 1/2 inch less then before. I admit I was expecting more resistance. I haven't driven it yet, I can't wait to see how it will be on the road.
The springs did the trick on correcting my negative camber on my rear of my Subaru
