DBA 5000 Series Single Front T-Slot Slotted Rotor - STI 2004-2015
With a two piece design and an AlumaliteTM center hat, DBA's 5000 series rotor is one of best direct factory replacement rotors on the market. Featuring a 2 piece design that helps reduce rotational mass while also keeping heat out of the hubs makes this rotor a great upgrade in every way.
The heat that the rotor prevents from entering into the hub will help prolong the life of the wheel bearings which quickly can wear out due to excessive heat which is produced by the brake system. Another great benefit is that the rotor is able to lose heat much faster allowing it to stay cooler, and allow the brakes to be used harder. With a precise array of tri-symmetrical ‘T’ slots, the patented T3 design brings major performance and practical advantages to the motoring enthusiast.

Whether you're zigzagging through your morning commute or carving out tight curves during a weekend trip to the track, your ride needs a set of brakes that matches your aggressive driving style. For a beefy boost in braking strength, bolt on a set of DBA T3 5000 Series Rotors.
Expertly engineered to make your brake pedal as responsive as your gas pedal, DBA 5000 T3 Rotors are built with the exclusive tri-symmetrical slot design. This ingenious pattern of curved grooves delivers maximum vibration reduction for even quieter, smoother and stronger stops over track-tested DBA T2 rotors.
Thermo Stability Profiling or TSP (4000 & 5000 Series):
This unique process provides greater thermal stability than standard street discs. TSP enhances the microstructure of the disc rotor for performance applications. Greater thermal stability allows your discs to take more heat, making them more stable under heavy braking for longer. TSP also means improved brake pad and disc rotor life, and delayed brake fade. DBA's 4000 and 5000 series rotors also incorporate DBA's Thermo-Graphic heat paint marking which change color at specific temperature thresholds. By monitoring the markings, drivers can check their braking performance quickly and easily.
So what makes it work so well? To answer this, let's look at a car's braking system. This system is critical in terms of vehicle safety and performance. Being able to stop reliably, time after time, under heavy braking conditions can mean life or death. Every time the brakes are used massive pressure is built up through the braking system. The force your foot applies at the brake pedal is multiplied many times at the disc rotors, creating friction and extreme heat. The extreme heat can cause disc rotors to warp, distort and in some cases fail. Traditionally, heat is removed as air flows through the rotor passing between straight cooling vanes. However, the straight vane design does not provide the ideal conditions for heat to be dissipated and tends to allow an unwanted ballooning effect.
Kangaroo Paw Design:
The innovative Kangaroo Paw design runs cooler, is stronger, and outperforms traditional straight vane disc brake rotors. Kangaroo Paw disc rotors will quickly remove the heat, cool the discs, and return to optimal operating temperatures ready for the next braking application without this ballooning. The Kangaroo Paw features 144 precisely positioned diamond and tear-drop pillars. The pillars create greater strength, reliability, and a more efficient cooling system. Greater surface area means more rapid heat dissipation. Cool air flows in from the center of the disc, while hot air is forced to the outside of the disc - regardless of rotational direction. The pillars provide greater strength across the disc rotor and reduce the tendency for disc distortion. This provides more efficient cooling and improves brake pad and disc rotor life, and helps reduce brake fade.
That's why the Kangaroo Paw system is so effective.
The 5000 Series rotor is an amazing upgrade for someone who demands the absolute maximum performance out of their brake system for anything from basic street driving, to a full on track monster!
For use in motorsport and premium street performance.
