    2015 Forester... Will the power trunk/tailgate still operate with weight of the ladder?

    Some years and some models of auto liftgates do not operate perfectly with the addiotnal weight of the ladder. We have seen some select models sag slightly by 1-3 inches of sag on level ground. When the vehicle is on an incline they can sag even more and in some rare cases it will auto close because of the addiotnal weight. It can be very irregular and inconsistent at times. The first generation of ladder was steel and the auto lift gates did not function properly with that weight. This generation of CNC aluminum ladders works well (hence why we state it was redesigned to minimize sag) but can still experience some irregular functions at times. If the car is equipped with NON auto and traditional struts that are in perfect working order there is no sag or negative impact from our experience.

    Does the trunk still open while the ladder is on? (Probably a dumb question)

    Yes, the ladder still allows for functionality of the trunk / lift gate. The lift gate will sag a bit under the load or weight ofthe ladder but the sag is very slight like a inch or 2 comaperd to not having the additonal weight of the ladder.
