After rolling 111k on the original factory suspension it was time for an upgrade. These Bilstein TerraSport B8s mated with Rallitek’s Outback Lift Springs are a game changer! I have driven ~3,000 miles now with this suspension setup (on-road, off-road, unloaded driving by myself, loaded driving with the family and fully load cargo) and I have nothing but positive feedback. The 1.5” lift gives my Outback a nice aggressive stance. On-road this suspension setup is a well-balanced firm ride (not harsh) and there is no body roll when taking corners; my Outback feels well planted and steering feedback is excellent! Off-road this suspension setup handles equally well adapting to the changing terrain conditions, bumps and ruts are well absorbed without jarring feedback.
I increased the sidewall of my tires from the factory 225/60R17 to 225/65R17 but experienced some rubbing in the rear wheel well, so I added the Bilstein TerraSport B8 1” subframe spacers using Rallitek’s Rear Subframe Drop Bolts. The factory rear subframe bolts were too short; after installing the subframe spacers there is no more rubbing.
