The RalliTEK Differential Skid Plate will protect your rear diff from hazards off-road such as rough rocks and trail debris. The skid plate is made from 3/16” aluminum for outstanding strength while minimizing weight. The angled front and side lips prevent the plate from getting caught on rocks or other obstacles. The driver’s side of the skid plate is designed for maximum exhaust clearance.

Fits great front skid plate needs some trimming to fit with off road bumber
Other than a very slight contact with the heat shield on a component of the exhaust system (which I was able to nip with my M12 oscillating tool), and some contact with the exhaust pipe, which I was able to eliminate using a couple of flat washers, the installation process was very self-explanatory and straightforward. Great safety factor for peace of mind regarding the fuel tank! Thank you for fabricating these great skid plates!

Our goal with our skid plates is too provide the most coverage possible we felt it was worth the small trim if we have better coverage all around. I should have bought this when I bought the front skid plate. I recommend using a lift for easier handling and to get those 2 subframe bolts out, I couldn't do it under ramps so took where I could get some lift time but was also installing my lift so 3.5 hors total but the plate too like 20 minutes. Installed on 2018 Crosstrek.
Excellent product
Subaru dealer did a good installation. Had them put thread locker on the bolts and torque them to 30Nm. Bent up the left rear corner of the skid plate when it landed on a rock. I think the left Subaru splash shield got bent also. Not sure the thicker skid plate would have made any difference. At least I didn't hit the transmission pan, again. Would like to put on larger diameter tires but my Subaru Service Advisor says Eysight can not be calibrated to accomodate more ground clearance. Guess I'll just continue hit the rocks and bend the skid plate some more. I used to use 1/8 inch thick steel boiler plate for skid plates on my dune buggy. Probably bends less than aluminum. I think my Wilderness could handle the increased weight. If you fabricate one I volunteer to stress test it for you.

I purchased the three piece set and the trans plate started to make loud cracking stress noises. Removed and replaced flat on floor as directed by Ralitek. Still creaks and pings over every bump. Front and diff are OK but I had to remove Trans plate so now I have an expensive piece of scrap metal in my garage. Cannot recommend Trans plate. Others are okay.

We're sorry you were not satisfied with the transmission skid plate. We've sold hundreds of these skid plates and have them on 4 of our company vehicles including our 2024 Crosstek Wilderness. We have not ran into this issue on our 2024 Crosstrek Wilderness but have had it happen on our 2021 Outback. When it happened on our Outback we found the skid plate was binding up as the chassis was trying to flex over bumps and uneven road. Once we un-torqued and re-torqued the bolts with the vehicle on the ground it went away and hasn't happened since. It seems to be an issue with the procedure of it being installed and or something about your vehicle specifically that is causing the issue. We've only heard a couple times of this issue over the years of selling this skid plate so there has too be something unique about your instance or scenario causing for the issue.

Small Glitch wit Fitment of Under Pan Only One Hole would align with the 4 predrilled holes.I re-drilled out the 4 holes 1/16" of an inch. Quality of workmanship and material The best.

The quality of the product is very good. You may lose a bit of clearance but the advantage of having armor is clear once you install the plate. I had to ream the rear hole 1/8" for the bolt to center on the threads. Be prepared with a file or drill.
Thomas apricate the feedback. We will evaluate the tolerances on the bolt holes of the skidplate and check manufacturing docs with QC. Please keep in mind when installing anything large with multiple mounting points it is best to just start the bolts finger loose, this allow for some fitment and fine adjustment before tightening down the bolts.
