These skid plates were a breeze to install! I hope to never need to put them to the test, but if I do, I know my Subaru will not be harmed. Thank you RalliTEK for making great products.
I do have one request, please consider making a replacement oil change cover an option.
Installed on a 2016 Subaru outback 3.6R. lift and tires, building a trail rig. Everything went smooth on the install and I noticed a significant increase in what felt like chassis rigidity. Drove a lot tighter. Also, got to take it for it's inaugural run on the trails near Durango Colorado and absolutely beat the **** out of it. Had a few hard contacts and no damage at all. Highly recommend.
Easy install!
Just finished a 1500 mile road trip, with quite a bit of gravel and a few proper Trails, with these. Even on a gravel road pulloff, this eliminates all the stress of looking for grapefruit-sized rocks in the soft ground. Go truly off road and these will "skid" all day across sketchy obstacles. Quiet on the highway. Access panels make oil changes easy.
So I got this pack for the "just in case" moment when something on the freeway cant be avoided. install was super easy and even a factory height outback had enough clearance that a jack and stands were not needed. Got this done in about 2.5hrs and thats because the plates can be awkward to get in place alone.
My outback is primarily a road trip and occasional camping vehicle with no plans to off road. But I do like keeping my stuff nice and that means protection.
Easy install on skid plates and rock solid perfect fit.instructions could include how to modify splash guard in wheel well so you can reuse it.
But if your handy youll see you can cut it and reuse it with a longer clip.Sliders instructions could be better, but there's a video on you tube.
I have put these products to the test and they work well.
Overall these are great for me so far. Three plates installed, lots of coverage, good thickness. There was a mix up on the parts bag but they noticed the problem, contacted me and sent me the right bag very quickly. Very happy with the experience overall and the installed product is great.
