Clutch Master Cylinder Brace - Fits 2008-2014 Subaru WRX & STI - 2008-2011 Impreza

This product bridges a connection from the pitch stop mount location over to the OE clutch master cylinder to eliminate movement in the clutch pedal and to provide increased pedal sensitivity and strength.

 

The 2008-2014 Impreza models are notorious for firewall failure issues. The number of spot welds combined with the thickness of the sheet metal Subaru used leads to flex in the firewall that over time will inevitably lead to structural failure and squeaky pedal noises. The repair is expensive and requires pulling the dash and pedal assembly in order to re-weld and reinforce. 

RalliTEK developed this brace in order to help prevent this common failure. Forces from the clutch pedal assembly are transferred by the brace evenly to the STRONGEST parts of the pitch stop mounting structure. In order to maximize the rigidity of the brace, steel was used for the entire construction of the brace. Clutch pedal feel is also more solid especially with aftermarket clutch kits with heavier pressure plate clamping force. As with most RalliTEK products these braces are manufactured locally in the Pacific Northwest USA! Quality of materials and manufacturing processes we’ve always been proud to support. 

 

In fact, this brace is made of 1/4" thick mild steel.

 

Unlike the competition, because of its unique 2 piece design and slotted holes, installation is easy and does not require a lot of technical skills or tools. Watch our installation video and see for yourself!

 

Due to the nature of this manufacturer failure, the brace may require additional shimming in some very rare cases. Please contact RalliTEK for further assistance if this occurs. This product is intended to maintain, and will not FIX an already damaged firewall.

Required for old WRX's!

I picked up an old WRX with a horribly flexy firewall - ick. This brace didn't solve the problem %100 but it was a critical and simple part of the solution.

Build quality is good and it definitely improved clutch feel, but the fit seems strange; the installation video mentions that it will be tight but it's a little concerning. Not sure how it will affect the firewall in the long run.

We've seen this happen a couple times. The reason we make this product is because the firewall flexes when you push the clutch pedal on these models which cause deformation and cracking on the firewall. When the brace fits tight it's because this deformation process has already started on the vehicle and things are not the way they were from the factory. This product was modeled off of a brand new OEM vehicle so if your firewall is deformed a bit than it will cause a tight fit. It's a good thing you added the brace as it sounds like you caught it before permenant damage happened to the vehicle!

Great Product

Great product, only downside was the nuts included were the wrong size for the screw. Had to find something in the garage that worked since we had everything apart already.

The shifting is night and day after this bracket was installed. If you own this generation of STI or Forester, get this right away!

Most heavy duty clutch brace ever

This is definitely sturdier than other clutch braces in the market. It was an easy install as well if you don’t mind the tight squeeze.

2013 Subaru STI Rallitek brace

All in all the brace was fine to install. After a few hundred miles on the car after the install I can't 100% say it's going to improve your braking feel. I mainly bought this as a preventative measure to hopefully make sure those firewall spot welds do not crack. I did swap on a Group N pitch stop mount while doing this brace install. For those that need it, the torque specs for the bolt closest to the engine is 38 ft lbs. The long bolt running through the pitch-stop to the brace is 43 ft lbs. Fitment is good. Well done Rallitek.

The brace has been working great

First time install is a bit tricky, just take it slow with the RalliTek video (it is very thorough). I have removed mine multiple times and it is definiltey easier after the first time, it has been working flawlessly for me!

Perfect solution

Installation is straight forward. Eliminates the pedal box flex almost completely (99% is close enough!) Perfect solution before your welds break.

Install was straight-forward ended up needing s new pedal assembly as well, but cars back up and running, no squeak, and responsive clutch and brakes.
