I installed this winch along with the Warn Semi-Hidden Winch Mount Kit. Installing the winch and wiring it was easy. My only issue I had was that the built-in controller is too short. Without cutting and adding wire to the prepared harness I was unable to make it through the fire wall and into the dash. So I located the switch at the top of the Driver side strut tower. Which is not bad but I would highly recommend. Getting the additional winch controller.

Thank you for the review and taking the time. We are glad you are loving the winch mount and the car looks fantastic. FYI the dash winch controller will unplug and you can then feed the wire harness through the firewall a bit easier.
Yes, we agree for years Warn supplied the controller in the past and now they offer and sell it separately. They did this when they added Bluetooth technology and the Warn APP where you can control the winch via your phone. We personally like the reliable plug-in hand controller. Bring back the analogue... lol
Is there a convenient way to freespool this winch? Magnetic access port/ spring loaded cover/ lever extension/ rubber boot? That type of thing.
There is a free spool gear on the right side of this winch that can be toggled to extend your rope length.
