When you’re looking for a quick deploying one-man operation awning that gives you 53 square feet of shelter you came to the right place. Our covers are manufactured out of 280G poly cotton ripstop material that has heat-sealed seams which ensure you’re not going to see any leaks through seams regardless of the size of rain you’re dealing with. When it's time to lock down base camp for serious weather, deploy the poles, secure the stakes with the supplied para-cord, and put up the optional enclosure shelter, and you're ready to take on some of the most severe storms. I installed the OVS Nomadic 2.0 a few weeks ago on my 2025 Subaru Outback Wilderness. I am using Yakima 50" JetStream Load Bars on Timberline towers, with a Yakima LoadWarrior basket centered. The awning is installed on the passenger side. The mounting brackets that came with the Nomadic were not compatible with the Yakima t-slots. I ended up ordering a set of Yakima T-Slot Awning Brackets to mount the Nomadic. The Yakima awnings have different track mount slot widths than the OVS hardware does, but even on two mounting points, the awning is mounted sturdily and does not budge - even at sustained speeds of 70mph.
The awning got its first actual use this past weekend in Ghost Ranch. Setup was incredibly intuitive and tear-down was easy (and done in the dark to respect the park's dark skies mandates). It stayed sturdily in place even with high winds and offered badly needed shade in the heat of the day and high desert sun.
Despite the challenges with installation, the Nomadic 2.0 awning is a great addition to any camping setup. It's incredibly sturdy and well-made for such a low price point. Highly recommend.
