The Cometic MLS (Multi Layer Steel) gasket is comprised of three layers of stainless steel. Cometic uses stainless steel for increased strength, its ability to rebound and corrosion resistance. The outer layers of the gasket are embossed and coated on both sides with a flouroelastomer rubber based material (Viton) designed to meet the demands of a variety of harsh sealing environments, load conditions and surface finishes.
<p>Cometic MXL Headgasket set for the Scion FRS and Subaru BRZ should be standard on any engine build you are doing. Cometic MXL utilizes an integrated stopper layer for combustion chamber sealing and improved clamp load around the cylinder without increasing bore distortion. MLX technology can be found in some head gaskets and are made from the same materials as our MLS Head Gaskets. No sealants or re-torque required.</p>
