The new NashFab roof rack I purchased from RalliTEK is working great.
I researched several options for my Outback Wilderness and decided to go with the RalliTEK NashFab option. I've put it to good use a few times since installing it, and it is far more stable for carrying longer top loads like my canoe than the previous racks I've used. The low profile didn't add much to wind noise while driving, and the extra stability with the strapped on canoe reduced side drag from cross winds. So far, I've done a few longer trips from the Twin Cities up to the BWCAW, and it all went great.
The installation was fairly easy, one just needs to be patient dropping the headliner and other parts to install the NashFab rack. It took about 5 hours to complete the installation. One thing that would be nice is if the rack came with plugs for the holes not used when mounting the NashFab rack, rather than getting plugs from other sources.
I recommend this rack system for anyone who is planning on carrying longer top loads on their Wilderness.
I recently installed the NashFab roof rack on my 2024 Subaru Outback Wilderness, and I’m really impressed. The rack is sturdy, well-made, and looks fantastic-giving my Outback a rugged, cool vibe that perfectly matches the Wilderness trim’s adventurous spirit. I was initially hesitant about installing it myself, but the design is straightforward and user-friendly, which saved me both time and money. The bolt-together construction and clear instructions made the process smooth, even for a solo install.
The gold-colored handle bars and MOLLE panels add extra functionality and style, making the whole setup definitely worth the investment. Overall, this roof rack system feels solid and thoughtfully designed, with no drilling required and a sleek, low-profile look that flows well with the vehicle’s body. I’m excited to explore more RalliTEK and NashFabCo products for future car upgrades! Highly recommended for anyone looking to enhance their Subaru’s utility and appearance.
I absolutely love this rack strong and super tight fit aero and sleek. I have a roof top tent and it olds all the weight, No problem. I purchased it with the Molle Racks on both sides and they function very well to add rotopax gas and water for the long trips. + They just look cool, let's be honest. A must for me and my overland trip game changer! Only negative a bit difficult to install but well worth it.
This rack is almost perfect, but I had to remove one bar to make the sunroof work. It could be a few inches taller for easier gear mounting, especially with a Roof Top Tent (RTT). Also, if you have a Yakima box or aero-style mounts, you'll need to bend the vehicle's roof slightly to install them, which can cause scratches. Filling the gaps left after removing the roof rails would be a nice touch, as dirt collects there easily.
On the plus side, installation is easy (except for the headliner removal). It's sturdy, looks great, and the bars are perfect for attaching gear.
Here's a summary of my ratings:
* Fit: 5 stars
* Looks: 5 stars
* Craftsmanship: 4.5 stars
I gave it 3 stars overall due to the sunroof clearance issues, limited space for mounting accessories, and the potential for scratching the vehicle's roof with aero-style mounts.
Recommendation: Consider getting the rear window covers – they're handy and look awesome!
